BASIC BURGER RECIPE
1lb ground hamburger
1/4 cup gluten free breadcrumbs
1/2 tsp coarse sea salt
1 clove minced organic garlic
1/2 cup minced organic onion
1 egg
FOR TEX MEX BURGERS, ADD:
1/4 cup finely chopped organic red or yellow pepper
1 tbsp chili powder
1 cup grated cheese
FOR ASIAN BURGERS, ADD:
1 tbsp tamari
1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
1/2 cup finely chopped cilantro
1/4 cup finely chopped organic green onion
1/2 tsp grated ginger
FOR MIDDLE EASTERN BURGERS, ADD:
1/2 cup finely chopped flat-leaf organic parsley
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp coriander
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/4 cup full-fat yogurt
FOR MEDITERRANEAN BURGERS, ADD:
1/2 cup finely chopped basil
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/4 cup kalamata olives, pitted and chopped
1 cup crumbled feta
1/4 cup finely chopped organic tomatoes
1/4 cup finely chopped organic roasted pepper
FOR CANADIAN BURGERS, ADD:
1/4 cup finely chopped organic red pepper
1/4 cup finely chopped organic green onion
1 cup crumbled blue cheese
1/4 cup sliced bacon
Perfect for a long weekend! Mix together ingredients for basic burger recipe. Add ingredients for preferred burger recipe, or mix together a few of each kind. Grill on a barbecue on medium heat, remove when cooked, and top with your favourite topping, such as organic ketchup or mustard, pickles, hummus, onions, tomato, lettuce, or others. Serve and enjoy!
