Perfect Popcorn with Coconut Oil

Popcorn is a classic comforting snack, but most pre-packaged varieties are made with GMO corn, artificial flavours, colours, and preservatives, and have extremely high sodium contents. Make a healthier version with organic corn, healthy fats, and all natural seasonings for a guilt free snack! Try adding any of the seasonings at the end to create your own variety.

  1 Tbsp. coconut oil/butter ghee or camelina oil
1/2 cup organic popcorn
1 Tbsp. melted butter
1 Tbsp. flax oil or Udo's oil
1/2-1 tsp Herbamare  


Melt coconut oil/butter ghee in a heavy bottomed pot over medium-high heat. Add in popcorn kernels and stir to coat well. Place lid on pop and leave until the popping starts. Shake pan well as it's popping. As soon as the popping slows down, turn off heat. Pour popcorn into serving bowl and top with melted butter and flax oil or Udo's oil. Season to taste with Herbamare.

Garlic salt
Celery salt
Parmesan cheese
Chili powder
Herbs de provence
Lemon zest and cracked pepper
Curry powder
Lime juice

Hi Kris, it’s all about portion control! I would say that 1-2 cups, popped, would be fine as a snack. Enjoy!

Yummy! Love popcorn, and always have…but this is the first that I’ve ever tried popping it in coconut oil. How much should one person consume? I could eat it all!
