Protein-Packed Nut Butter Power Balls

Looking for a healthy snack that actually tastes good? These Nut Butter Surprises will be your new fave!  A balanced snack, just like a meal, should include three main components: protein, fat, and fibre. These delicious bite-sized delights have all three of those main nutrients. The protein comes from unflavoured protein powder, as well as almond butter; the flax and sunflower seeds add some healthy omegas (fats); and the fibre comes from the flax, seeds, coconut, and oats. Plus, we've added cocoa powder to up the antioxidant and magnesium content, and also to give them great flavour, and dried cranberries for the perfect amount of tart sweetness. To top it all off, we've sweetened these snacks with honey, an all natural, healthier sweetener that won't spike your blood sugars!
The outcome? Delicious Nut Butter Surprises that are perfect for kids, adults, and everyone in between. They're especially handy to take on-the-go with you to avoid stopping at drive-thrus or picking up a bag of potato chips. They will satisfy your hunger, not cause cravings, and keep you steady until your next meal. Try making a batch today and let us know what you think!
1/2 cup unflavoured protein powder
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup ground flax
1 cup cocoa powder or carob powder
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup dried coconut
1/2 cup large oat flakes
1 cup almond butter or sunflower butter
1 cup honey  

In the bowl of a food processor, combine the dry ingredients (everything EXCEPT almond butter/sunflower butter and honey/agave) and pulse a few times. Then, add the nut butter and honey/agave nectar to the dry mixture and process to combine. Roll into balls. If mixture is too dry, moisten with a little water. Enjoy!
