We love creating and sharing new healthy recipes – and so do our social media friends! We run a contest called #goodrecipeshare. All you have to do is post a picture of one of your healthy recipe creations on Instagram, use the hashtag #goodrecipeshare, and even tag us for good measure. We choose winners to be featured on our social media, blog, and Nourish magazine.
This recipe here is one of our most recent winners: a delicious Coconut Kale Smoothie. Created by Lauren, a passionate vegan studying Environmental Science, Economics, and Policy at the University of Guelph, this recipe is sure to be a healthy breakfast or snack to keep you going. Lauren loves living a healthy lifestyle, spending time with friends, and trying new things, and we love that she shared her recipe with us!
This Coconut Kale Smoothie is packed with superfood ingredients to add phytonutrients, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals to your meal. It's naturally sweet with banana and dates, and has the healthy fat content of coconut oil and coconut flakes, the energizing power of cocoa powder, and yumminess of walnuts, and the nutrients of kale. Combine all of these and what do you get? A vegan, gluten free, delicious healthy way to start your day or have a healthy snack.

Coconut Kale Smoothie
2 frozen bananas
2 pitted medjool dates
3 stems of kale, stems removed (use leaves only)
2 tablespoons of tahini
a long drizzle of coconut oil
1/4 cup cocout flakes
1/4 cup walnuts
couple drops vanilla
couple tablespoons cocoa powder
Combine all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
