A good breakfast sets the tone for the rest of your day. This delicious smoothie has all the important aspects of a healthy meal: protein, fat, and fibre. Blend it up when you're heading out the door or for a refreshing breakfast in the morning.
3 cups fresh or frozen berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
I made this smoothie with a mixed berry blend that was strawberry, blackberries, and blueberries. I had to cut the recipe for one person so I put one apple and I used 1 cup of lowfat strawberry kefir and omitted the water since the berries where frozen already. I also added some honey. Very delicious. I wanted to know if the vanilla protein powder will change the taste of this smoothie?

could this be healthy enough to have as a supper/dinner and also sub. milk for the water….sometimes we just want the egg and bacon sort of breakfast.
Thanks

I was wondering if i could get the nutritional facts on this please..i am on a calorie reduced diet

Hi Tracy, what in particular are you looking for? Unfortunately we don’t have the outright nutritional information for this smoothie—but looking at the recipe, there would be about 40g of protein in the protein powder (depending on which one you use)—and the fat content will depend on your choice as well. 1 cup of full fat yogurt would have approximately 8g protein, 9g fat (healthy fats, though!), and 9g carbs. The fruit will add the fibre. The calorie count would likely be around 300-400, again depending on the ingredients you choose. I hope this helps you!

Hi Vera, absolutely this would be healthy enough for a dinner! You could substitute milk for the water, though this will add more protein and fat (depending on the milk you choose—almond, coconut, soy, etc.). Sometimes breakfast for dinner is the best meal! :)
