Salted Caramel & Green Grape Escape Smoothies

Salted Caramel Brownie Batter

This thick and creamy smoothie will have you wondering if you are having dessert for breakfast! Packed with chickpea protein, fibre and healthy fats like nut butter and coconut, you are sure to feel content and satiated. Banana and avocado give this smoothie a velvety texture and add potassium to support heart function. Rich in antioxidants like flavonoids, cacao brings the chocolate flavour to life and can help to reduce inflammation. Boost it with maca powder to strengthen the body’s ability to cope with stress. Top it off with this easy 5 minute salted caramel (you’ll be putting this on everything, you’re welcome) and you will be wondering where this smoothie has been all your life!

Ingredients:

• 1 banana frozen
• 1/4 avocado fresh or frozen
• 2 tbsp salted caramel
• 1.5 tbsp cacao powder
• 1/4 tsp vanilla
• 1 tbsp peanut or almond butter
• 1/2 cup almond milk
• 1/4 cup chickpeas
• 1/4 cup zucchini

*Keep chickpeas and veggies refrigerated

• Boost it! Add 1/2-1 tsp of Maca powder

Salted caramel:

• 1/2 cup coconut cream
• 1/4 cup coconut sugar
• 1/2 tbsp cornstarch, arrowroot powder or rice flour
• 2 pinches sea salt

Garnish:

• Salted caramel
• Banana
• Hemp seeds
• Cacao nibs
• Peanut or almond butter

Garnish:

1. Make the salted caramel. Pour all ingredients into a small pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and whisk for 5 minutes. Set aside.
2. Blend all ingredients on high until creamy and well combined
3. Pour into a cup and top with banana, hemp seeds, cacao nibs, nut butter and salted caramel.

Green Grape Escape

This refreshing green grape smoothie will keep you hydrated and thinking it’s a hot summer day. Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup grapes frozen
• 1/2 cup peaches frozen
• 1/2 cup spinach
• 1/4-1/2 cup cucumber
• 1/2 cup coconut water
• 5 mint leaves

• Boost it! Add 1 tbsp MCT oil
• Boost it! Add 1/4 tsp spirulina

Directions:

1. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend on high until well combined. Pour into a glass.
2. If adding spirulina, blend it in or mix in once poured
