Presented by VON Canada | Instructor: Alan Sze, R.KIN, CAT(C), B.P.H.E., Dip SIM
This six-week educational series is designed to help individuals understand, manage, and live well with Osteoarthritis. Classes are led by Alan Sze, a Registered Kinesiologist and Certified Athletic Therapist with over 20 years of experience working in hospitals, physiotherapy clinics, and community health settings. Alan is VON Guelph and Wellington County’s Registered Kinesiologist and is GLAD certified (evidence-based Osteoarthritis care) and Bone Fit certified through Osteoporosis Canada.
This program is proudly supported by VON Canada, a non-profit organization founded in 1897, dedicated to helping Canadians live safely, independently, and actively in their homes and communities.
Session 2: Cartilage, Joints, and Posture
This session focuses on the role of cartilage in joint health and how cartilage changes affect Osteoarthritis symptoms. Participants will learn what happens when cartilage becomes damaged or worn down, and whether “missing cartilage” automatically means more pain. Alan will also explain strategies to help support joint health, including the importance of standing posture, balance, and alignment in managing Osteoarthritis.
This is Session 2 of 6 in our free Osteoarthritis Education Series. Sign up for all six classes to gain practical tools and knowledge to better manage Osteoarthritis.
