Founded in 1999 by Lloyd Bernhardt and Kim Schachte, Ethical Bean Coffee is a pioneer of its kind. While waiting to adopt their daughter in Guatemala, the couple saw the strives of local people. These farmers are producing tons and tons of coffee that is consumed all over the world. However, in most cases, they were mistreated and paid poorly. In an attempt to rectify this and bring about more ethical policy, they decided to open their own company. Today, Ethical Bean Coffee company produces premium coffee products while also being more than fair towards local farmers and supporting the local economy.
