Description

Kapikacchu are the seeds that are encased by a velvety pod of a tropical legume, hence the common name Velvet bean. It is considered to be a key rejuvenating tonic in Ayurvedic Medicine and has been traditionally associated with sexual vigor and vitality. Kapikacchu contains unique plant compounds such as naturally occurring Levadopa, (L-Dopa), a precursor to Dopamine. In Traditional Ayurvedic formulations, Kapikacchu is commonly combined with Amla, Ashwagandha, Gokshura or Shatavari. According to the energetic principles of Ayurveda, Kapikacchu is sweet and bitter in the Rasa taste energy, heating in action according to Virya and balancing for Vata and Pitta constitutional doshas, with a tendency to increase Kapha. It is considered a wonderful daily herb to support general well-being, vitality and health.

Allergen Information: Produced in a facility that packages tree nuts (Almonds, Hazelnuts and Cashews). The facility is dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free and peanut free. 
Storage Information: Refrigeration not required. Store in a cool, dry, dark place.
  • Organic kapikacchu.

  • Kapikacchu is a sweet and slightly bitter tasting herb. Take 1 teaspoon of Organic Traditions Kapikacchu powder as a tonic once or twice daily. Add Organic Traditions Kapikacchu powder to water, coconut water, your favorite juice or to smoothies. Add 1 teaspoon of Organic Traditions Kapikacchu powder to your favorite smoothie recipe to create a nourishing, antioxidant rich smoothie. According to Traditional Ayurveda it is suggested to take 1 teaspoon twice daily in warm water or warm milk as a supportive tonic. Make a tea-like infusion by adding 1 teaspoon of Kapikacchu powder to 6-8 oz. of hot water or almond milk. Let the water sit for 10 minutes to allow the compounds to be released. Add some honey or 1 teaspoon of Organic Traditions Yacon Syrup or Organic Traditions Coconut Palm Sugar in order to add a touch of sweetness. Kapikacchu is often added to Rice dishes as an herbal food in traditional applications. Combine the powder with one portion of Organic Traditions Sprouted Risotto mix or Sprouted Quinoa for added benefits. Add to any porridge, cereal, herbal tea or raw dessert.
