We’re celebrating 35 years of goodness this April – and we want you to join us!
35 years ago in 1981, the first Goodness Me! opened its doors to the city of Hamilton. It was a small store, and Janet Jacks was the only employee. She baked, ordered product, priced, ran cash, and talked to and educated the customers. The plan was that Janet would only work for a year at the store, at which time her husband, Scott Jacks, would take over and Janet would return to being a stay-at-home mom and part time teacher.
Well, anyone who knows Janet, knows that this did not happen.
35 years later, Janet is as involved in the business as ever. She thrives off educating and talking to our customers and staff, and does so through her radio program called Just for the Health Of It; by teaching classes to our customers; by writing books, such as Discover the Power of Food and Share Goodness; and just by being present at the stores to answer customer questions.
This April, we’re celebrating being in business for 35 years. We may have started small, but we have grown to 9 locations, an online stores, and hundreds of staff members. But our purpose has stayed the same: to help people live longer, healthier, happier lives. This was Janet’s goal in 1981, and it’s still our goal today.
So, how can you celebrate with us? Take a look at some of the excitement we have going on in April!
