One great thing about having our own organic farm is getting weekly updates from our farmers, Meiring and David! Wondering what's coming into stores from our farm? Read on to find out!

Our stores are all gearing up to receive organic produce from our very own certified organic Goodness Me! farm! Now that we've had a bit of rain and the weather has been co-operating, we're starting to see lots of vegetables growing and we're getting excited to see the fresh produce on our store shelves.

Our farmers, David and Meiring Beyers, have provided us with a great update from our farm. They have been testing new methods for planting and harvesting, as well as figuring out how to get rid of weeds naturally. Plus, a sneak peak on what's going to be coming into our stores very soon... enjoy the goodness!

"We have had our work cut out for us with the constant rain the last two weeks. The on-going wet weather will likely be a blessing later in the season with abundant and available soil moisture, but it also means weed pressure is very high. We also really limit any machine movement over the wet soil to keep the soil disturbance and compaction as low as possible. Here we are test driving a few new Hoss wheel hoes in heavy weeds just to test its limits. Wonderfully crafted and very practical tool, making short work of the weeds. Even in wet conditions it works very well in the beds where weeds have been continuously managed. Fingers crossed, harvest is very close: Kale looking beautiful, Garlic Scapes all but ready, few beds of Swiss Chard, Lettuce and Radish also in the race.   - Meiring and David"

thank you

I was also hoping for a tour of the farm this summer! Please keep me on a list to keep informed if this is happening? Thanks so much!

Hi Deb, right now we do not have any tours booked for the farm this summer. We are trying to work that out with the farmers! Which location did you see this at?
