Marigold (Calendula) is a native of Europe but familiar around the world as a yellow ornamental plant.
Marigold flowers contain antiseptic, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties that promote healing. As such, Marigold helps to cleanse the blood and helps stimulate circulation.
Externally applied, the cooled tea soothes burns and improves healing of wounds. Traditionally it has been used for gastrointestinal problems such as ulcers, stomach cramps, colitis and diarrhea.
It is also useful when taken internally for fever and helps prevent recurrent vomiting.
