Part-Time Cleaner

Goodness Me! is currently seeking a part-time Cleaner for our Barrie store. The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the building by performing various cleaning duties. Duties may vary on any given shift. Tasks may also change throughout a cleaner’s employment. The part-time position will entail approximately 12-16 hours per week, consisting of only evening and weekend shifts, but flexibility is required. 

EXPECTATIONS:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (note: this is not an all-inclusive list): 

Restrooms: Clean and disinfect sinks, countertops, toilets, mirrors, floors, etc. Replenish bathroom supplies. Polish metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.

Eatery/Patio Area: Clean tables and chairs; pick up dishes and garbage left behind, etc.

Break Rooms: Clean and disinfect sinks, countertops, tables, chairs, refrigerators, microwaves, etc.

Floors (in all areas including kitchen): Regularly sweep, mop, vacuum, etc. Scrub, wax, polish as needed.

Trash (in all areas including kitchen): Empty wastebaskets and recyclables and transport to disposal area.

Parking Lot and Entrance: Pick up litter, sweep, etc.

Other Cleaning Duties: Clean rugs, carpets, using vacuum cleaner. Wash walls, windows, door panels, partitions, sills, etc.

Odd Jobs: Change light bulb, assist with lifting and moving of product, office supplies, furniture, shelving, etc. 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Employee must be: comfortable with assisting customers; willing to take direction; able to work well with others; able to read, write and problem solve; able to communicate effectively; able to use good judgment and effective decision making skills; proficient with task planning and organizing; able to pay attention to detail; able to lift 50 pounds; able to use chemicals and cleaning supplies safely; able to bend and reach repetitively and stand for long periods; able to work in the freezer and refrigerator for short stretches of time (20 minutes); able to work outside in the elements as needed.

In-House Demo Team Member

Goodness Me! is currently seeking an engaging part-time In-House Demo Team Member to work in our Barrie location. The successful applicant will have energy and enthusiasm, an eagerness to learn, and a zest for healthy living. A dedication to outstanding customer service and a passion for healthy eating is required for success in this position. Knowledge of the natural foods industry and previous work experience is considered a strong asset. The incumbent will have demonstrated knowledge of visual presentation, and a creative eye, as this position would assist with marketing initiatives such as kiosk and seasonal displays. 

Candidates must be flexible, as this role will consist of a mix of daytime, evening, and weekend shifts. This role will entail generally 16 hours per week, based on store needs and customer traffic. 

Job Summary: In-House Demo Team Member (IHDTMs) play an important role as part of the Goodness Me! marketing team. IHDTMs set up and man a visually appealing demo station, ensuring that it stays fully stocked and orderly throughout the duration of the product showcase. The presence of the IHDTM near the inside entrance of the store serves to provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere to customers as they enter. IHDTMs endeavor to knowledgeably engage customers in conversation about the product being demoed, having studied the product knowledge sheets in-depth in advance. They are eager, charming and gracious in their quest to intrigue customers and pique interest, yet always careful not to come across as pushy or intrusive. Keen to expand their knowledge base to better serve customers, IHDTMs are always striving to learn more.
