Healthy & Delicious Chocolate Candy Cane Smoothie

If you had to choose your favourite holiday flavour, would you choose chocolate or peppermint? If, like me, you answered “both”, you’re in luck! Introducing our new Chocolate Candy Cane Smoothie—just in time for the holidays.  

Our eatery is always cooking up something new, and this December that something new is our Holiday Smoothie: Chocolate Candy Cane. It might taste like a treat, but the ingredients are all healthy—and will help give you energy and stress-resistance this holiday season! ALMOND MILK: This vegan milk alternative is one of the most popular for smoothies! It adds a delicious flavour and texture to the smoothie without adding any dairy or sweeteners. Made from real almonds, it also gives a powerful hit of protein to power you up for the day.  

BANANA: Besides adding some sweetness to this smoothie, bananas are high in a number of nutrients and vitamins such as magnesium and vitamins C and B. (Did you know magnesium helps relax you, lift your mood and fight depression, while vitamin B nourishes your nervous system? Exactly what the doctor ordered this time of year!) They’re also high in antioxidants, helping fight free radicals and keep your skin looking young.  

COCOA POWDER: Did you know that just 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder contains 3-9% of the recommended daily intake of iron, manganese, magnesium, and zinc? All of these things work together to give you energy, strengthen your immune system, metabolize nutrients and produce new cells. Yes, please!

HONEY: A healthier sweetener than sugar, honey is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. It also helps to soothe the digestive tract. Just a little is all you need in this delicious smoothie!  

PEPPERMINT: Perhaps best known for its ability to soothe the stomach, peppermint is a wonderful thing to include in your diet.
