Grilled Pineapple with Maple Syrup & Cinnamon

Who knew dessert could be so healthy! This unique treat is sweet and tangy, and has the perfect mix of flavours. Plus, it won't leave you bloated or feeling guilty for indulging.

 

1 organic pineapple, peeled and quartered lengthwise
1 cup maple syrup
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves  

Peel and cut pineapple into spears and place in a plastic bag. Add maple syrup, cinnamon, and cloves. Marinade for 1 hour up to 24 hours. Heat grill to medium-high. Place pineapple down on rack and cook until nicely brown on all sides, turning every 3 minutes and watching carefully not to burn. Option: Serve hot with organic vanilla ice cream and remaining marinade drizzled overtop. Recipe by: Sandy Pomeroy, Goodness Me! Cooking Instructor
