So, Super Bowl Sunday is quickly approaching. For many people, this is probably the most exciting day in February – an excuse to kick back on the couch with snacks and friends and enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon. But, if you’re anything like me, Super Bowl doesn’t mean a whole lot sports-wise. I’m not very sports-savvy, and can honestly barely even follow a football game. But even though I don’t know much about football, I DO know that game day means parties, gatherings with family and friends, and lots of great food. And the food part, I can definitely help you with.
I know nachos are always a favourite at any gathering, and especially sports-watching, but I’ve got something different for you to try – a mouth-watering Zesty Guacamole Dip. It’s delicious, healthier than salsa, easy to make, and can be used with pitas, tortilla chips, or any other creation you can come up with. And better yet, it’ll be a hit with everyone – whether they know football or not. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
RECIPE:
2 medium organic avocados
1/3 tsp. Herbamare
1 organic tomato, finely chopped
2 tbsp. fresh lime juice
1/2 tsp. minced garlic
1/4 tsp. Louisiana hot sauce
Cut the avocados in half and remove the seed. Scoop out flesh into a bowl and mash with a fork. Add seasonings (remaining ingredients) and stir. Adjust to taste. Serve with pita triangles or chips.
